Amor Lewis Fussner was born in the Cincinnati, Ohio, suburb of Norwood, to John J. Fussner and his wife, Emma Ballman Fussner. He had two brothers, Clifford and Ralph, and one sister, Adella (Laur). He was a finishing carpenter with a business in Cincinnati. Enlisting on April 25th, 1918, he was killed in battle at the Meuse-Argonne Forest on October 8, 1918, as part of the 328th Infantry Regiment, 82nd Division. His father was notified of his death at the family home,1812 Maple Avenue in Norwood.
