Ragna was the daughter of Edvart and Maren Hansen. Ragna was the second child of nine in her family. She was born in Norway and came to the U.S.A. in 1909 with her daughter Martha Marie Ness. She married her loving husband Christ on March 26, 1905 in Nes, Romerike, Akershus, Norway. After coming to America the family eventually settled in Winter, Wisconsin. It most resembled the climate in Norway and they had many Norwegian friends in the area. They were married 46 years before Christ passed away. She lived many years by herself on the families Winter, Wisconsin farm. During the last years of her life she spent it living in a smaller home in Winter, Wisconsin. She loved life to the fullest, even re-roofing her house at 90 yrs. of age. A true blooded Norwegian, but also an all American citizen. You will always be missed by me Grandma Ness.
