SOUTH BEND - Harriet L. Marshall, a South Bend resident, passed away at 10:10 a.m. Tuesday, September 7, 2010, in the Ironwood Health & Rehabilitation Center where she was a patient for one week. She was 101 years old. She was born September 22, 1908, in Ora, Indiana, a daughter of John and Clara (Young) Reinhold of Culver, IN, and had lived in South Bend most of her life.

Harriet worked for 15 years at the Studebaker Corp. and retired from Robertson's Dept. Store in downtown South Bend after 15 years as secretary to the manager of the basement.

On June 8, 1935, in South Bend, as Harriet Reinhold, she was united in marriage to Edward J. Marshall of South Bend. They enjoyed 59 years of marriage until his passing on December 23, 1994. She was also preceded in death by her only child, James Marshall in 2005, two sisters and two brothers.

Harriet is survived by one grandson, John Marshall of South Bend; one granddaughter, Cindy (Dave) Olando of Mishawaka; three great-grandchildren, Chad Olando, Scott Olando and Jason Olando; and three step-great-grandchildren, Michael, Ashley and Emily Olando; and one step-great-great-grandchild, Jordan Olando; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Marshall was a longtime member of St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, its Harvest House and Holy Name Society. She was also a member of the former Ladies of the Moose #1057 in South Bend.
