Son of Jefferson Davis "J.D." Cox and Amelia P. Tyler; grandson of Solomon Thomas Cox Jr. and Diana Coffee Cox, Lane Co. pioneers of 1851; gt-grandson of Solomon Thomas Cox Sr., a Lane Co. pioneer of 1847-48.


THE TIMES, Junction City, Oregon, July 18, 1946
Funeral services will be held in the Miller-Sherman Funeral Home Friday afternoon at 2:00 for Robert Cox, 51, who died July 16. Donald Burke will officiate. Interment wil be in the IOOF cemetery. Robert Cox was born on the home place west of Junction City, January 28, 1895, and has lived his full life in the same community.
He married Mabel Cunningham at her home in Cheshire, June 25, 1916. Three children were born to this union. Two survive.
Mr. Cox was a good farmer and he also loved to hunt and fish. He was a good neighbor and everyone who knew him liked him.
He is survived by his widow, a son Ralph, of San Francisco,Calif., a daughter, Mrs. Arlene Mikkelsen of Junction City, his aged father, Jefferson D. Cox and brother Claude, living on the home place; four sisters, Mrs. Effie Dorsey of Tillamook, Mrs. John Murray of Elma, Wash., Mrs. Vera Anderson of Eugene and Mrs. Kathryn Dyer of the Liberty Dist; also four grandchildren, Ronald, Marjorie Ann, and Larry Mikkelsen and Robert A. Cox II; many nieces and nephews and friends.
