Mrs. Hattie Brook LEATON, wife of William L. LEATON, died Sunday afternoon, after an illness of nearly three months from kidney trouble. Two operations had been performed, apparently with success, but the patient was unable to rally.
Hattie Brook HACKLEY was born in Missouri May 24, 1878. She is survived by her husband and six children, one son having died several years ago. Mr. LEATON, who is carpenter at the Haybro mine, was only last week discharged from the Oak Creek hospital, where he had been ill with the mumps, and the oldest son, Leo, has been seriously sick with the same malady, but is now improving.
The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon from the Methodist church, where services were held by Rev. V. C. Soash, and was conducted by Undertaker I. J. Robacker. There were many beautiful floral tributes, and the members of the Eastern Star, of which order deceased was a member, covered the casket with wreaths and bouquets. During her residence in Steamboat Springs Mrs. LEATON had won the sincere regard of a large circle of friends, all of whom sincerely sympathize with the bereaved family
