Aubrey A. Ross, 70, of 617 N. Walnut St. died at 2:35 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient for one week. A retired railroad engineer, Mr. Ross was formerly employed by the C&IM Railroad. He was born near Mount Pulaski the son of William and Linnie Haynes Ross and had been a resident of Springfield for 36 years. Mr. Ross was a member of the First Christian Church and Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Enginemen. Surviving are his wife, Ruth; one son, K. LeMoyne of Springfield; one brother, Robert of Sebring, Fla.; one half - brother Duaine Ross of Chicago; three sisters, Mrs. Audrey Grimes (Twin sister of Aubrey) of Chestnut, Mrs. Ethel Bryson of Chatsworth, Calif., and Mrs. Opal Burton of Peoria; one half- sister, Wanda of Mount Pulaski and six grandchildren. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Ellinger and Kunz Funeral Home. Dr. Beryl S. Kinser will officiate and burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
