Memorial to World War II Soldiers of Sebastopol. Sebastopol earned the distinction of being named a "hero city" for its defense against the German Nazis Forces, who gave three assaults on the city. The monument to the defenders of Sevastopol during World War II was dedicated in 1967. At first, there were 19 granite tiles with the names of naval and military units and city organizations that defended the city. Later, seven more tiles bearing the names of heroes of the Soviet Union were added.
