Frances Helen Iobe, 80, of Marshall and formerly of Coldwater, died peacefully on Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011 at Maplewood of Marshall.

Frances was born in Quincy on Aug. 22, 1930. She was born to Arthur and Dorothy (Stukey) Waterbury. She went to school in Kalamazoo and graduated from Normal, which is now Western Michigan University. Frances married Leland Iobe on July 11, 1954. Leland preceded Frances in death on Dec. 19, 1998.

Frances stayed at home to raise her children and then went to work at various banks in Marshall once her children started attending school. She retired from Marshall Building Components.

Frances enjoyed participating in several organizations including DAR, Eastern Stars, and the Methodist Church. Her biggest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, as well as taking care of people. Frances took care of friends even at Maplewood until she was unable to.

Frances is survived by her children Marie Straub (Doug Sperry) of Coldwater, Kathryn (Forest) Hills of Dexter, Barbara (Steve) Sill of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Leigh (Debbie) Iobe of Marshall; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.

Visitation will take place on today, Feb. 24, from 5-8 p.m., with family here to receive friends. Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held on Friday,?Feb. 25, at 10:30 a.m. at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home & Cremation Services, with Reverend Len Schoenherr officiating. Interment will be held following the service at Fort Custer National Cemetery.

Memorials can be made in her memory to the American Diabetes Association.
