Mrs. Ruth Smith
Mrs. Ruth Virginia Smith, of Lynchburg, Va., formerly of Macon County, died Saturday, February 15, in Virginia Baptist Hospital, Lynchburg, after a short illness. She was a daughter of the late Charles Avery Cabe and Fannie Saunders Cabe of Franklin, and was the widow of the late Donald Bacon Smith.
She was a member of Quaker Memorial Presbyterian Church and was a furrier with Miller and Rhodes Department Store.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Donald R. Hendricks, of Lynchburg; three brothers, Henry W. Cabe and W. Russell Cabe, of Franklin, and Reid Cabe, of Hagerstown, Md.; seven sisters, Mrs. Clinton R. Cabe and Mrs. J. S. Gray, of Franklin; Mrs. Paul Cunningham, of Pineville, W. Va.; Mrs. Blanche Garner, of Andrews; Mrs. W. R. Penland, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla;.; Mrs. Charlie Saunders, of Richmond, Va.; and Mrs. R. C. Snyder, of Commerce, Ga.; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at Diuguid Memorial Chapel by the Rev. James H Thompson and burial was in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
