Thaddeus "Ted" Kasubinski Jr., of Monroe Twp., died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, at St. Peter's University Medical Center, New Brunswick, after a long illness. Born in New Brunswick, Ted was a lifelong resident of Monroe Twp. He graduated from Jamesburg High School and the General Motors Training Center. He retired from Anheuser Busch/Gist-Brocades, East Brunswick as a plumber/pipefitter/welder. Ted was a member of the Teamsters Local #194 Bakery Drivers Union and the Jamesburg B.P.O. Elks Lodge #2180. Ted was an avid race car fan as a young man and was interested in antique cars and antiques in general. In his free time, he enjoyed bird watching and observing wildlife.
He is predeceased by his father, Thaddeus Sr.; his very close cousin, Jeannie Ruhl; and his good friend, Ernest Deming. Surviving is his wife of 42 years, Barbara Meyer Kasubinski; his son, Thaddeus III and his wife Erinn of Monroeville, Pa.; his two grandchildren, Kamryn and Thaddeus IV; his mother, Agnes Valik Kasubinski of Monroe Twp.; and his sister, Teresa Ruiz of Parlin.
Visiting hours for family and friends will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11 and 8 to 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 12 at the Lester Memorial Home, 16 W. Church St., Jamesburg. Services will begin 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 12 at the funeral home, followed by a 9:30 a.m. funeral liturgy at Holy Trinity R.C. Church, Helmetta. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery, Monroe Twp. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Helmetta Fire Dept. or the Monroe Twp. Rescue Squad.
