Royden Vossburg was the editor for a 1922 book, "Wawarsing Reformed Dutch Church Records" which states: "I copied the gravestone inscriptions which follow, on June 15, 1920. As my time was limited, I was only able to copy and compare the inscriptions on the older stones. All the stones copied lie approximately in the northeast quarter section of the square, beginning near the middle row and working towards the most easterly row. Nearly all the stones copied were of slate, limestone, or sandstone; the few marble stones copied are marked with asterisks. The more modern gravestones have inscriptions on the westerly side, and face towards the entrance gate...
