WILBER, Esther passed away quietly in her sleep Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at the age of 98 years. She was born May 10, 1912 in Pillager, Minnesota to Henry and Anna (Gaulke) Hemphill. Esther had three brothers, Alfred, Marion and Arlo Hemphill. The family moved to Saginaw, Michigan in the early 1920's. She married William (Bill) Wilber and together raised four children. Bill died in 1965 after a lengthy illness and Esther never remarried. Esther loved traveling and camping with her family, writing poetry and organic gardening. Esther is survived by two of her children: daughter, Beverly ( Gary ) Wallaert; and son, William "Terry" (Mary) Wilber; a daughter-in-law, Kelly McKeage; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded by two sons, Robert, her oldest in 1966 at age 24 and Paul, her youngest in 2001 at age 49. Those left behind will miss her greatly. Her family will lay her to rest next to her husband in Roselawn Memorial Gardens on Monday, December 6, 2010 with a chapel ceremony at 11:00 a.m. Services entrusted to Kendall Funeral Home, St. Charles.
