Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Friday at the First Baptist Church, Effingham, Illinois with burial in the Rentfro Cemetery, Shumway, Illinois. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM today at the Johnson Funeral Home, Effingham, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, Effingham, Illinois and the Effingham Camp of Gideon's.
Mr. Strus was born Nov 28, 1915, the son of Henry and Bertha {Laue} Strus. He married Bessie E Tarrant in 1939.
He was a farmer, a carpenter and a mechanic, was a member of the First Baptist Church, Effingham, Illinois and was treasurer of the Louisville Baptist Association.
Surviving are his wife; son, DR. David {Sondra} of Kokomo, Indiana, daughter, Doris {Jim} Fox of Woodlawn, Illinois; sister, Virda Forbus of Ramsey, Illinois; six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
