OBITUARY

Edwin Alfais Bickford was born near Augusta, Me. Feb. 3, 1844. His parents died when he was a small lad of 9 years. He was taken to Minnesota where he was raised to manhood by an aunt, Emily Bowen. He went to Cherokee, Iowa and engaged in farming, later coming to Albion, Nebr., where he farmed for several years.

He was married Nov. 16, 1882 to Hattie Foltz at Neligh by Judge Robert Wilson. They lived in the village of Oakdale a short time and moved to a farm three miles north of Oakdale in 1893 where he has since resided.

His wife preceded him in death July 21, 1924. Four sons, and seven daughters remain to mourn his death. At the time of his death he was in Oakdale at the home of his eldest son. His children were with him and all that could be done for his comfort was faithfully performed by them. He declared himself ready to leave this earth.

Since November 1922 he has been a semi-invalid, having suffered a stroke of paralysis, he gradually failed since that time, until death mercifully came at 11 o'clock Jan. 2, 1927 to relieve him of his sufferings.

The children are as the following: Mae Grandall, Billings, Montana; Lowell M. of Ewing, Nebr.; Algier and William of Oakdale; Rowland L. of Casper, Wyo.; Ethytle Lorenzen, Neligh; Mildred Fallesen, Edythe Lorenzen of Neligh, Amanda Anderson of Oakdale; Thelma Wilson of Williard, Mo., and Miss Elsie of Lincoln, Nebr. Twenty-eight grandchildren and five great grand children mourn for their grandfather. Funeral services were held at the M. E. church Tuesday afternoon, with Rev. Barch, assisted by Rev. Kauffrouth officiating. Interment was made in the Oakdale Cemetery.
