Found in The State 03 September 1938: Mrs. Mary Lupo AIken, 83, died at her home near Monticello yesterday. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 o'clock this morning from the Monticello Methodist church by the Rev. Mr. Inabinett, pastor of Bethel Methodist church, assisted by the Rev. Toy Reid, pastor of Wesley Memorial Methodist church of Columbia. Interment will be in the churchyard. Mrs. Aiken was the daughter of the late Rev. T. S. and Nancy Yarborough Lupo. She was the widow of James Dixon Aiken. Her father was pastor of the Monticello Methodist church. She was a life member of the Women's Missionary society of the Monticello Methodist church. She is survived by one brother, James B. Lupo; two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Aiken of College Place and Mrs. C. A. Mcgrew of Atlanta, Ga., and a host of nieces and nephews.
