John Bryan Frisby arrived with his parents Bernard Bryan Frisby and Mary Ann Kehoe at Waukegan, Illinois from Mullinavat, County Kilkenny, Ireland on June 14, 1849 when he was 4 years old. The family farmed in Nunda Township on River Road near the Michael Sutton place.

In 1905 they moved to 3620 W. John Street in McHenry.


He served in the Civil War as a Union solider, mustering at Chicago, IL 4 Aug 1862; discharged at Nashville, TN 9 Jun 1865. He married Bridget Weston 3 Nov 1868 at St. Patrick's Church in McHenry. He died of Cancer.
