Abraham Powell, American Revolution Soldier, son of English Land owner, settled in Hampshire County, Virginia. He was born October 20, 1754.
Abraham received his Army Commission, signed by Patrick Henry, Governor Chief Magistrate of the Commonwealth at Williamsburg, Virginia. He assisted to establish American Independence in the capacity of Ensign, Hampshire Co. Virginia, in the year of July 1, 1770. (Copy in Virginia State Library) In 1780, he married Anna Smith, Born 1762 – died 1845. Their children were Elizah, Samuel, Abraham, Timothy. Abraham died Jan. 1817 in Urbana, Ohio, a farmer.

Timothy, son of Abraham, was born July 8, 1792 and died 1857. Married Margaret Taylor July 1818. She was born 1802 – died 1844.

Francis Jane Powell, daughter of Timothy, was born May 2, 1822 – died September 1896. She married Morris Reese Pepple 1850. He was born 1815 – died 1893.

William Dennis Pepple, son of Francis Jane, was born December 8, 1853, Auglaize County, Ohio. Married Princess Elnora Yoe, born May 10, 1857 Green Camp, Ohio – died Aug. 30, 1931 in auto accident Prospect, Ohio. William Dennis died Jan. 3, 1919 in Ada, Ohio. He was a teacher, school principal and supertendent. They are both buried in Mt. Zion Cemetery near West Newton, Ohio. Two children, Dwight and Ada Blanche.

Ada Blanche Pepple born December 20, 1880, West Newton, Ohio, Allen County – died September 9, 1967. Married George Elliott McCormick born Dec. 28, 1879, Muncie, Indiana died September 1955. Both died in Escondido, California. Both buried Oak Hill Cemetery, Escondido, California.

Lotus-Lily McCormick born November 29, 1899. Married Henry Reed Stauffer born June 1, 1899 – died August 2, 1970, Marion, Ohio. Buried Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Ashland County, Ohio.

Three children, Betty Jane, Henry Jr., Richard Lee. Henry Jr. died August 26, 1941.
