In 1852, at age 22, Hans moved with his birth family into the town of Risør.
1854: Marriage of shipbuilder Hans Madson Nautenes, age 24, & Christine Jorgensdatter, age 19.
From 1856-1862 in Risør, Hans & Christine's first 5 children were born. In 1862, their oldest daughter, Inger Marie, died. Later in America, in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, Hans and Christine had 5 more children .
