James Alfred/Cleland Reid was the son of James M Reid. He was the youngest of a family of seven children.
He was married to Nina Catherine Porter on June 27, 1912. To this union were born three children, Donald, Sheldon, and Mary Beth. With the exception of a few years spent in Grinnell, he had lived all of his life in the Ewart neighborhood.
He was a devoted husband and father, bringing sunshine wherever he went. He was a good citizen and a businessman and was loved by all who knew him.
