Jesse and his brother, Jeremiah, came to Barren County, Kentucky in 1798. Jeremiah was authorized to operate a tavern at his home in 1802. Their land was located around South Fork, Beaver Creek area. Jeremiah Everett operated a mill on Skaggs Creek. Jesse Everett owned land in the South Fork Community. This is where he and Rachel lived and raised their children.
Jesse Everett specified in his will dated December 13, 1854 that one acre of land on the original home place be set aside for the Everett Cemetery. Rachel and Jesse Everett are buried here. Their children, Samuel, Isaphena Davidson, Mary Davidson, and Elizabeth Everett are also buried there. Samuel Everett's son, Benjamin Gideon Everett and his wife Bettie Matthews Everett are also buried in this cemetery.
His will was written 13 Dec. 1854 and probated 1 Dec. 1857. It mentions wife, Rebecca, children Ewell N., William G., Frances G., Isyphena Davidson (decd), Nancy Hatcher, Julia Ann Fishback, Rebecca Eubank, Elizabeth N. Everett, Mary E. Davidson and Samuel Everett; slaves William French and Narcissa, Louvina and Thomas Mitchell. It calls for a graveyard to be built where his first wife is buried. Executor was son Samuel Everett. Witnesses were H. S. Sanders, J. W. Scribener, Thos. Scrivner and E. N. Everett.
