Funeral service will be held Sunday, March 11, 2012 at 1 o'clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel, Summerville. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Park, Charleston. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 until 8 o'clock Saturday evening. Flowers will be accepted.
Mrs. Garvin was born September 5, 1931 in Orangeburg, South Carolina, daughter of the late Paul and Virginia Weathers Martin. She attended school in Orangeburg. She worked at Ruby's Steakhouse for 19 years and was a homemaker.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter: Tammy Thomas of Ladson and eight grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, two sons and one daughter: Ronnie Garvin, Lawrence Blackwood and Pauline Blackwood.
