Born in Abbeville County, he was a son of the late Samuel Bethea Cann Sr. and Jessie Mae Campbell Cann. He was retired from Seaboard Airline Railroad and was a former timber buyer and cattleman. He was a member of Sharon United Methodist Church and was a mason.
Survivors include five sons, Talmadge Thomas Cann Jr. of Fairburn, Ga., Samuel H, Cann of Oxford, Ga., John Franklin Cann of Commerce, Ga., Rayford E. Cann of Dewy Rose, Ga. and Jesse Lee Cann of Raleigh, N.C.; two brothers, Samuel Bethea Cann Jr. of Abbeville and Jack P. Cann of Greenville; a sister, Vivian C. Powell of Calhoun Falls; 20 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Services are at 2 Monday at Harris Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Todd Davis and the Rev. Franklin Manning. Burial is in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
Visitation is from 6-8 tonight at Harris Funeral Home.
