Lillian was a 1940 graduate of England High School. She married Everett Ray McDade and to this union one child was born. She later married H.W. "Jack" Weathersby. They first lived in El Paso, TX where they owned and operated five barber shops on Ft. Bliss. Later they moved to North Little Rock, AR. After Jack's death she married Lawrence W. "Bill" Price. In 2003 she moved to Houston, MO to be near her daughter and grandchildren. For the past year she has been a resident of Landmark Villa and Kabul Nursing Home, Cabool, MO.
Lillian grew up on a farm, but she much preferred city life. During WWII she worked for Kaiser Steel testing metals. Briefly she was a sales rep for Penny Wise Plastics and then became a seamstress for Ottenheimer Bros. who produced clothing for SEARS. She made watches at US Times (Timex), worked for the City of Little Rock, and eventually retired from the Mabelline Corporation.
Lillian became a Christian in 1955 and joined Grace Baptist Church at the original Second Street (N.L.R.) location. It is believed she had the longest membership on record. After moving to Houston Lillian's health was fragile and she often needed assistance. Her neighbors, Bill and Maudeline Maxwell and Leoma Agee were always there to help and Linda McCrea was a dependable housekeeper.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husbands, her brother, James Lee Lessel, and her sister, Mary Will Chaney. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Beverly and Dr. Gerald St. John of Houston MO and a sister, Nacretia Clawson of Olive Branch Mississippi. She is also survived by four grandsons, their wives, and five great grandchildren: Geoffrey St. John (Gina) of Springfield, MO; Aaron St. John (Denise) of Licking, MO; Jeremy St. John (Jamie) of Houston, MO; Preston "Drew" (Megan) of Cape Girardeau, MO, great grandchildren: Grace, Josiah, Rebecca, Abbey, and "Charlie' St. John all of Springfield, MO.
