Asked the secret of her long life, she said, "I surprisd everybody." Sister Gonsch was professed in the congregation on Aug. 15, 1907, having entered the order on Sept. 1, 1904. She is believed to be the only living nun who has known all eight superior generals of the order. A naturalized citizen, Sister Gonsch taught primary school in New London, Two Rivers, Mayville and Fond du Lac, and in Indiana and Pennsylvanis. She retired to Nazareth Heights in 1965.
Friends describe her handwriting as "beautiful", and she is an avid writer of letters and notes. Sister Consch was guest of honor at the annual Founders Day celebration Sept. 2 at St. Agnes Convent.
