Charles W. Fisher, 84, of Washington, died Thursday, May 3, 2012, in Washington County Health Center, Chartiers Township.

He was born October 1, 1927, in Washington, son of the late William Alonzo and Louise Elizabeth Reynolds Fisher.

Following graduation from Washington High School, he attended Penn Commercial for two years.

Mr. Fisher joined the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Korean War for three years. At the time of discharge at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md., he held the rank of staff sergeant and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and a Good Conduct Medal. He was part of Hq 6570th Chemical and Ordnance Test Group.

He worked as an accountant and salesperson for various local businesses. He tended bar, part-time, for many years at Celetti's Bar and Grill on Maple Avenue.

Mr. Fisher was a member of Edwin Scott Linton American Legion Post 175 of Washington.

He enjoyed time with friends and family.

He was formerly married to J. Lenore Neil, who died in 2002.

Surviving are two daughters, Beverly N. (William) Nelson of Douglas, Mass., and Lisa A. Fisher of Washington; two brothers, John R. Fisher and Edward (Mary Ann) Fisher, both of Washington; two sisters, Sarah Speakmeyer of St. Charles, Mo., and Charlotte (Daniel) Ashmore of Pittsburgh; a grandson, William D. (Brooke) Nelson Jr. of Bellingham, Mass.; three great-grandchildren, Andrew, Alexander and Gabrielle Nelson; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased is a brother, George Fisher.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Hummell and Jones Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, Thomas W. Hummell, supervisor, Douglas M. Jones, director, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 10, with the Rev. Linda Mankey officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray. Military rites will be accorded graveside by American Legion Post 175 and the U.S. Air Force.
