There are two listings for George W. Day in the funeral home and cemetery records. Death date could be October 17, 1931 or May 19, 1936. UPDATE: from the Saint Croix Courier, 1931, "Died, At Woodland, October 17, George W. Day, aged 73 years. "

His Maine Death Record lists his birth year as 1858. Cause of death was chronic myocarditis (3 years). He was buried in Calais Cemetery on October 19, 1931.

Son of John W. and Elvira Jane (Blanchard) Day.

1900 United States Federal Census about George Day: Husband of Maud. Children included Cora F., Deborah E., Ida M., Alina (should be Alma), Allan (George), Eva (later renamed Lillian Faith), Belle* and Pearl Day. (Belle and Pearl are each listed as age 7 months.)

He is buried in the family lot and listed on the headstone. Family headstone is no longer upright.

*Regarding Belle Day --She is listed as the adopted daughter of George and Maude Day in Calais Cemetery records and is buried with the George Day family. See Albert(h)a Day where she is linked with her birth parents.
