Dorothy May Dockendorff, 97, of Burlington and formerly of rural Danville died at 3:07 p.m. Monday, August 27, 2012, at Great River Medical Center - Klein Center.
Born June 27, 1915 in Farson she was the daughter of Manning Fairfax and Lela Mabel Willard Harwood. On December 25, 1937 she married Henry Ford Dockendorff in Farson. He preceded her in death on January 2, 2001.
Mrs. Dockendorff was a registered nurse at Burlington Hospital for 20 years, retiring in 1976. She was a member of Danville Congregational United Church of Christ, Women's Fellowship at church and Jane Delano Nurses Association.
Mrs. Dockendorff was a great homemaker and gardener. She kept a large garden. She also played piano and taught piano lessons.
Survivors include one son, Robert D. Dockendorff of San Francisco, California; one daughter, Linda C. Johnson of Los Altos, California; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one brother, Arthur Harwood of Athens, Georgia; one sister, Gladys Hebert of Honolulu, Hawaii and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Dean Harwood.
Interment will be in Jaggar Cemetery, rural Danville.
