Edgars came to America in 1950; arriving in New York City from Munich, Germany on 4 April 1950.

On 25 August 1973, Edgars married Marcelline Elfreida Braun in Milwaukee, WI; she was age 42, he was 53. Marcelline ("Marci Lynn") was the fourth of twelve children born to Arthur Joseph & Elizabeth Johanna (Weisser) Braun.

Marcie & Edgars had no children. Edgars died from cancer at age 68.
