John H. "Jack the Tire Man" Trecartin, 58, of 147 Washington Street, Lynn, died Sunday, February 28, 1993, in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Jamaica Plain after a lengthy illness. He was lifelong Lynn resident, son of Donald and Josephine (Lawton) Trecartin.
Mr. Trecartin served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He worked at the Bennett Street Tire Company for many years until he retired in December 1991 because of illness.
He leaves his son John H. Trecartin, Jr., of Los Angeles; daughters Kathy Weiskel of Pittsfield, Tammy Culliver of Glenwood, Ala., and Susan Trecartin and Wendy Wager, both of Lynn; brother Donald Trecartin of West Groton; sisters Pauline Johnson of Lexington, Ky., and Eileen Trecartin of Lynn; nine grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and devoted friend Sheila.
Funeral services will be held at 8 a.m. Wednesday, March 3, from the Lombara and Son Funeral Home, 893 Western Ave. (at McDonough Square), Lynn, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Patrick's Church at 9 a.m. Burial will be in the Korean Conflict veterans section of Pine Grove Cemetery in Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday, March 2, from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9 p.m.
