I no longer add the names of living relatives to the memorials that I have created, especially the names of minor children. Please consider others and their privacy before posting names of living relatives.

I've been doing ancestry research for almost 30 years as time permits, and I've found that Findagrave is an invaluable source of information. I help where I can with photo requests in nearby cemeteries. I'll gladly make corrections to any of the memorials I manage if the information I have is incorrect. And I'll gladly include any additional basic facts. But please, don't send me an obituary that contains the names of living people!! The following is copied from Findagrave"s bio information page: " We ask that those who index and memorialize the deceased from newspapers and other third-party accounts do so with full respect of copyright, refrain from adding information about living people (e.g. survivors) to protect their privacy..." Identity theft is a large problem today and information on living people needs to be kept as private as possible, and I no longer include them in the bio on a memorial.
