September 2007, I started my cemetery project to accurately record and photograph the grave markers, cemetery records, and add genealogical information to identify family members. I take digital pictures, GPS readings, measure and sketch the marker, and map its location within the cemetery. When necessary and able to, I clean the stones/markers taking great care not to damage or degrade them.

This project ensures that my deceased family members are not forgotten and their memories live on. It also helps those who are unable to travel to view a loved one's memorial. I also wanted to create another source of preservation of my family history that others can share in. It also helps others researching these families an opportunity to collaborate on our family history. All information I provide in the memorial is public knowledge.
