I am a historian interested in the past and my family's lineage. I believe we should not forget those who came before us; they lived, they loved, and they had families. These memorials serve as living reminders of our loved ones, and what better way to honor those who came before us than to use this space to share information and pictures of our loved ones? I feel it's my duty to ensure that our ancestors are not forgotten and their information is as accurate as possible.

Find A Grave's transfer guidelines:
If the memorial in question is a relative of yours (within our transfer guidelines) and the memorial manager is not family, then they must transfer the memorial. If they refuse to transfer the memorial or do not respond within a reasonable amount of time, contact [email protected], and we will work on it for you. Our transfer guidelines include these close relationships: child, spouse/partner, sibling, parent, grandchild, great-grandchild, grandparent, great-grandparent, niece/nephew, great-niece/nephew, aunt/uncle, great-aunt/uncle, or first cousin.
My Transfer guidelines: I manage memorials for both family and non-family members. I am happy to transfer memorials to ANY family member requesting. By that, I mean you do not have to be a direct descendant to request to manage a family member's memorial. Your great-grandmother's sister's daughter is your family, even though she isn't a direct descendant, and you have the right to want to manage her memorial. Family memorials should be cared for and managed by the family first. For those who have no family, I will care for and honor them. *I do NOT transfer my family memorials*
It is beyond the pale that memorial "collectors"—who have zero family connection to a memorial—shamelessly REFUSE to transfer it to the rightful family members. Their blatant disregard for Find A Grave's transfer guidelines shows an appalling lack of respect and basic decency, but also proves that they prioritize increasing their numbers over honoring the memories of those memorialized.
