I have been climbing my family tree for twenty three years. I began with researching my paternal great grandparents because I didn't know very much about this line. Little did I know, what a fun, yet challenging hobby this could be! New genealogy friends have been made along the way and we cheer each other on when we find those elusive facts. During the summer of 2025 I decided to research/update the veterans buried in the Homestead, Blaine, Oklahoma Cemetery. Homestead is now a very, very small community but was thriving when my paternal grandparents arrived in 1910 from Haddam, Kansas. One thing led to another and I am now researching the veterans buried in other Blaine County cemeteries as well as one Major County, Oklahoma Cemetery.
