I was born to William Edward Schaefer & Agnes Barbara Kirkweg in Jefferson City, MO. My father was born in Loose Creek and my mother was born in St. Elizabeth. I went to JC Senior High School, graduated in 1965 and then went on the college at Univ. of Missouri @ Rolla and graduated there in 1969. Got married 3 days after grauation and then drove to west coast where I had my first job with the WA State DOT. I retired from DOT after 31 years, later purchased 2 pizza shops and ran those with my wife and oldest son. I have since got out of pizza business and worked for a couple tax services for 7 years and now teach at a local community college in accounting.

Rita and I have three children who live in Alaska, Oregon and here in Olympia, WA. Rita and I have a deep regard for genealogy.
