I do not have any issues adding someone's rank to their memorial. I do not have any issues with connecting someone to a relative that has no burial details. The way I see it, if Find A Grave has a problem with that, they would not provide the option. In military cemeteries they add everyone's rank to the headstone as long as they can verify the rank. It does not matter if they retired from the military or died in service. I see too many people on this site that are control freaks about these two issues. It is a collaboration site after all. Information that one person has can help another user combine their data that could be the missing piece to solve the puzzle.

I have been doing my family genealogy since about 1983 when I first was able to travel to Belgium to meet some of my relatives.

My father's side is Belgian. He is the first born American Generation on my paternal line. Primarily in Michigan but have spread across the globe.

My mother's side is German. Her ancestors have been in the USA since just before the Civil War. Primarily in Missouri and Illinois but have spread across the globe as well.

My four main lines I research are Pattyn, Johnson, Jonckheere and Heisler. I also research for my nephews, nieces and cousins families outside of these lines.
