As an over 30-year family researcher, I sincerely value findagrave, but do recognize that errors can be made on headstones. Also true of death certificates, for the personal data is only as good as that known by the "informant".

All that being said, Find-A-Grave is a warm way to honor the deceased. A way to "visit". especially when unable to travel. A way to send the link to someone else who knew the deceased.

The main purpose of Find-A-Grave is to honor the deceased. To avoid creating a duplicate memorial, Find-A-Grave asks that we please take the time to perform a search prior to submitting one.
