Hello everyone. I am Betty Flynn. I live in Winona, MS. My husband is Mike and we live with numerous cats and dogs that we have adopted over the years and we love them like they are our children. I was raised in the hills of Carroll County. My parents were the late James W Mullen and Corro Lee Alderson Mullen of McCarley. I was the 8th of 9 children. Growing up in such a large family never had any dull moments. My mother was diagnosed with MS when she was 40 and although she had every reason to focus on her own self she never did. She was always concerned about others. We didn't have much but we didn't know it. Our house was filled with love for each other. Mama always made sure of it.
I have 3 children. My oldest son is Shane, who is married to Kendra. They have one daughter, Rachel who is 3. They live in Brandon, MS. We just found out that Shane was diagnosed with MS. It was a shock to us all and we are still learning how to deal with this but Shane's attitude and his determination to master this has inspired us all. He works at the Baptist where he has access to the latest technology in the treatment of MS, which is a blessing in itself.
We have a dughter, Paige Holland, who is married to Charley and they have a son, Noah, who is 1. They live in Ponotoc.
We also have another son, Justin, who is married to Lindsey Parker and they live in Vaiden.
We are a close knit family who tries to get together as often as we can. We love to cook and we love to eat so we find every reason we can to get together to do just that. Another legacy my mother left behind.
