OBITUARIES
I enjoy adding obituaries to older memorial pages. I usually add them as photos, although I understand some managers prefer that they be transcribed and placed in the biography section instead. When I do provide a transcription, the original clipping is still included for reference. This allows others to verify the text in case of transcription errors or omissions. In addition, since most information on a memorial can now be edited by others โ and may be auto-accepted if a manager is not regularly online โ an attached obituary image (or other document) preserves the original content in a form that cannot be altered. Ultimately, having an obituary on a memorial, in any format, is valuable for those researching the individual.
