PLEASE do not post photos of obituaries on my memorials. I will ask you to remove them if they posted to the memorials I manage. If you won't remove them, I will have FindAGrave remove them. Please take the time to re-type obituaries or newspaper notices that you would like to submit. A photo of a newspaper clipping looks so tacky and is usually so hard to read. If you are not a good typist or just prefer not to do it, send the newspaper clipping to me (a link to it is fine) and I will happily retype the article and post it for you. Thank you for your support on this.

I'm primarily interested in memorials for my family, near and distant, and friends. If I've made a memorial for one of your relatives and it falls within the Find-A-Grave guidelines, I'll be happy to transfer it to you. My main concern is that no one should be forgotten.

I welcome all edits or suggestions to my memorials. My only request is that when you submit edits to the memorials I manage, please provide information on your source. If I can easily look to your source to verify the edits, it will make things roll along much quicker. Also, anyone interested in genealogy knows that you MUST ALWAYS document your sources...otherwise, it is just heresay.

Since everyone has "rules" on their profiles about what they permit and don't permit, let me just state this here...Obituaries ARE allowed as long as the original source is attributed. This means, add the newspaper name that the obituary was taken from, as well as the date and page number. If you don't believe me, Here is a direct quote from the FindAGrave guidelines:

"Can I add an obituary to my interment listing?

It is best to not copy obituary notices from newspapers to an individual's memorial record unless you have permission from the newspaper to do so. In general, obituaries in newspapers are submitted by the family. If the obituary is added to the memorial record, it should list the newspaper and date the obit was printed. Find A Grave reserves the right to remove obituary notices from memorial records."
