My name is Bobby Kelley, and I am a genealogist, historical researcher, and cemetery enthusiast with a deep passion for preserving the stories, legacies, and worlds of those who came before us. Since beginning my journey into genealogy and historical research in 2003, I have dedicated myself not only to documenting memorials and cemeteries, but also to researching the families, companies, estates, mansions, and historic landmarks that shaped history around the world.

Throughout years of research, I have come across many quotations, letters, and reflections from the people whose lives I study. Some are fleeting, while others stay with you long after you first read them. One quote that has become especially personal to me in both my research and my own journey through life comes from Millicent Rogers:

"Life is absolutely beautiful if one will disassociate oneself from noise and talk and live it according to one's inner light."

Those words deeply resonate with the way I approach history, genealogy, and life itself. So much of historical research requires patience, reflection, curiosity, and the willingness to look beyond the noise of the modern world to uncover the stories quietly waiting to be remembered. Over the years, that philosophy has guided not only my research, but also my appreciation for the beauty found within forgotten cemeteries, abandoned mansions, fading photographs, historic estates, and the lives of those long gone.

My work has led me deep into the histories of influential families, industrialists, socialites, royalty, movie stars, philanthropists, and cultural figures from around the world. From the great railroad empires and oil fortunes of America to historic European estates, legendary homes, and the companies and institutions built by generations past, I strive to preserve not only the facts of their lives, but also the atmosphere and history of the worlds they inhabited.

Another quote that has remained with me throughout my research comes from John D. Rockefeller:

"Every right implies a responsibility; Every opportunity, an obligation, Every possession, a duty."

Few statements better capture the realities I have observed while studying great fortunes, influential families, and those who held power and privilege throughout history. Wealth and influence often brought extraordinary opportunity, but they also carried expectations, responsibilities, burdens, and, in many cases, personal sacrifice. That idea rings true not only in history, but in life itself. I believe we all have a responsibility to preserve the stories, memories, and legacies entrusted to us, especially for future generations.

That sense of responsibility continues to guide my work today. Over the years, I have contributed historical research and documentation to projects associated with HBO, FX, and the Biography Channel, helping ensure that stories shared with the public remain rooted in accurate history and genealogy.

My website, Stories Among The Stones, is an extension of that passion and mission. There, I share cemetery history, genealogical research, forgotten stories, memorial biographies, estate histories, architectural landmarks, and the fascinating lives connected to influential families, historic places, and cultural figures from around the world. My research spans far beyond America's Gilded Age, exploring stories across generations and continents while preserving the legacies of both the celebrated and the forgotten.
