I don't understand why some Find A Grave users are so against posting obituaries on memorial pages? Most people who died over 20+ years ago do not have an online obituary on a funeral home website or newspaper website, so uploading an obituary on a Find A Grave memorial page is usually the only place online or anywhere that the obituary and photo are posted for that deceased person.

The death certificate of the deceased, is the most informational and correct document to use as proof on a find a grave memorial. It contains the parents names, date of birth, date of death, funeral home information, cemetery or crematory information etc. They should be always be posted, unless the family does not want it posted. In most states death certificates are public record 25 years after the date of death.
