"Rather than have members upload obituaries as images, we request that members type out obituaries to be placed in the "Bio" removing the names of living people (including survivors of the deceased) due to privacy concerns. WHY add a clipped newspaper obituary or a picture of the obituary from a funeral home- when I already took the time to transcribe it and added it to the correct place (the bio section) or some other contributor took the time to transcribe it and suggest it for a memorial - and surviving family members were removed……. WHY? See below…

LOOK BEFORE YOU ADD….. duplicates are easy to prevent.

Family names:

Abbey, Aitkens and various spellings, Allison, Arney, Atchley, Bagby, Banta, Blankenship-Blankinship, Brading , Brandon, Breeden, Brown, Bush, Cook, Cunningham, Demaree -Demarest, Fulton, Graham, Harden-Hardin, Long, Luster, O'Cain-O'Kane, Perrine, Raspberry, Sears, Schinlaub, Scott, Stigleman-Stiggleman, Stewart, Stryker, Tobias, Victor, Vincent, York

There are several spellings and more names….

Why send an edit?

Please do not send edits trying to connect living people to their families. Sometimes I automatically accept edits, but later I go back and look - if they are, I will change them. Yes, we can always find someone who has passed on, but we don't have to add every one just to add them. This causes duplicate memorials and a lot of upset contributors, when they lose a memorial of a loved one or worked really hard on.

I add flowers quite often, but there is not always a family connection. I just like to leave them for the forgotten..(those who do not have any)
