As a fellow graveyard walker, cemeteries for me have always been a haven, a museum and an office. When the weather permits, that is where you most likely will find me. In each family there is one who seems called to find the ancestors. To put flesh on their bones and make them live again. To tell the family story and to feel that somehow they know and approve. I walk the cemeteries that others won't.

Cemetery walking is not a cold gathering of facts; but instead, breathing life into all who have gone before. We are the story tellers of the tribe. All tribes have one. We have been called, as it were, by our genes. "When an old person dies, it's like a library burning down." -Alex Haley. Those who have gone before cry out to us: Tell our story.

Please feel free to use any photos or information that I have uploaded. It is not necessary to contact me in order to use it. My theory is that the more you share, the more the information will be out there for generations to come.

Also, any changes that are sent to me, I take at face value so please don't send me a list of sources that prove who the parents are or where they were born. I'm not the DAR or a school teacher who double checks for accuracy. What you send me is what I enter.

Find A Grave says this memorial already has a grave photo. Please indicate why you think it needs another.

When do I leave flowers? . . . when I visit a page with *no* flowers . . . when I visit a family member . . . when I visit a family friend . . . when I update a page I manage . . . when I accept a suggested edit on a page I manage . . . when one of my suggested edits is accepted on a page I do *not* manage.

As for transfers, if I am managing a memorial that you would like transferred to you ....just let me know! Memorials should be with loved ones whether they are related or not. All I ask, if transferred, is that you did not request the transfer just to trash the memorial. Now is not the time to vent an old enemy or maybe an ex. However, keep in mind to honor your request of transfer of management of the memorial we manage we ask that you be a member of Find-a- Grave community for at least one year.
