While I am doing genealogy research for my friends and family I frequently run across other obituaries and census records and they lead me down a path (more like a tangent). When I notice that there are memorials for the people, I look to see if I can contribute any information to help make their memorials more complete. Not everyone has access to research tools. I feel it is my responsibility to share the information I come across with others. I know that I am deeply grateful to all of the contributors who have come before me, posted memorials, photographed graves, provided information, and submitted edits to update memorials. This is a team effort.

If you would like me to transfer a memorial to you, please leave me a message on my message board and include the memorial number. I am happy to transfer.

ADDING THE RANK TO A MEMORIAL:

I have recently learned that the use of one's former rank by non-retired military personnel is not a prescribed usage by the Department of Defense (DoD). Use of rank is reserved for career 20-year retirees and individuals who passed while on active military duty.

MILITARY RANK:

I will add military rank to a service member's memorial in two situations:

1. If the person retired from the military or was

2. Killed in action while in service.
