[Today is the first day of fall- 9/22/26]

It's fun going to a cemetery and looking at a headstone that tells a little bit about a persons history. It's even cooler to work on your own genealogy and find the missing pieces of the puzzle that links your history. You not only become the family story teller, but you share the knowledge that you have worked hard to show your family.

Army- Soldier

Navy- Sailor

Air Force- Airman

Marine- Marine

Just because someone filled out a military registry card does not mean they served in the military . (Ex: My grandad filled out a WWII registration card and never served). Also the military person's birth and death years on headstones does not always match up with the war it says they've served in during their service. Headstones have mistakes.

When mentioning a memorial to a F.A.G. member, please give the full name and memorial I.D. of the person you are about to discuss. So they know who you are talking about in your conversation.

Been curious in genealogy at a young age. Love going to cemeteries to see the history of people who once lived. And if someone needs a request or if the cemetery hasn't been submitted on FAG, I do not mind doing my part. One of the things I like doing is transcribing headstones.
