I "inherited" fallen graver Robert Brennan's (206726466) memorials at the beginning of 2022 and have been extremely appreciative of the suggested edits that people have contributed. I could never update so many memorials on my own.

If anyone would like a transfer of a memorial, be it a family member or just a good friend, please don't hesitate to ask. Robert enjoyed taking headstone photos and creating memorials from obituaries; I believe it was somewhat therapeutic for him.

**Any memorial that Robert left a flower on I will only transfer to a direct relative as these were people near and dear to his heart.

My fascination with find a grave started when I googled my great-grandfather's name (William Anderson White) and it showed a link to find a grave for HIS grandfather who he was named after. This GGG-grandfather turned out to be the first mayor of Warrior, AL (where my grandfather was born).

I was amazed that there was such a place where you could see your family's headstones and find out some pretty cool things about them...what a wonderful way to connect families!

The pictures I have contributed are free for you to use.

The Recording of a Cemetery

by Thelma Greene Reagan

Today we walked where others walked

On a lonely, windswept hill;

Today we talked where others cried

For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.

Today our hearts were touched

By graves of tiny babies;

Snatched from the arms of loving kin,

In the heartbreak of the ages.

Today we saw where the grandparents lay

In the last sleep of their time;

Lying under the trees and clouds -

Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.

Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;

Who lies beneath this hallowed ground?

Was it a babe, child, young or old?

No indication could be found.

Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.

We had been here once before

On a day we'd all like to forget,

But will remember forever more.

Today we recorded for kith and kin

The graves of ancestors past;

To be preserved for generations hence,

A record we hope will last.

Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,

For stones sometimes crumble to dust

And generations of folks yet to come

Will be grateful for your trust.
