As of August 2026 someone at Find A Grave noticed I was the person who discovered that Factory Reject in Forest Lawn Glendale was actually Edward Bixby Hutchinson from Massachusetts, so they gave me a long overdue shout out on social media.

On a more mundane note, there is no point in asking me to transfer a memorial that I created which I no longer control (more than 85% of the memorials I created). The URL below explains the proper way to ask for a memorial transfer of a find a grave memorial.

Be aware, if you are working on Forest Lawn Glendale, the vast majority of all people who died after 1934 but before 2012 who are listed with death years on the Forest Lawn website already have Find A Grave memorials (as witness the fact that the cemetery has over 344,000 listings as of August 2025). Some of these listings have been made with garbled names, but many more have been made with surnames that do not match the markers, which is usually women who have multiple married names. You should be extra careful when adding names in these date ranges.

Also be aware that many memorials have first names which do not match the markers as well, often these are nicknames or cases where someone has edited a memorial to change someone's name back to their birth name, when the person abandoned that name very early in life and switched to a different first name, or took their middle name as their first name. If you have any doubts at all try searching for the surname only and the death year if known.

Also consider that Forest Lawn has had a working crematorium for at least 90 years now, and a number of people have been cremated there without being inurned there. Also, an obituary which states that a person had a service at Forest Lawn does not guarantee that the person is buried or inurned there.

Finally, please keep your Forest Lawn locations straight! Forest Lawn Glendale is separate from the Hollywood Hills, Long Beach, and Covina locations, although all four are in Los Angeles County.
