Note: Due to the tremendous number of edits I'm receiving (mainly to add fields that didn't even exist when my listing were created like M/F, or Veteran), I am starting to transfer many of my listings to Find-a-grave to manage. That will ensure edits can be performed faster as I'm getting hundreds a day for things not related to the information recorded on the stone in the cemetery...the initial purpose of this site many many years ago....documenting cemeteries. Everyone needs to remember that with the addition of links, edits, etc.....the information OTHER THAN THAT SHOWN ON THE MARKER PHOTO ITSELF, is not really any better than an ancestry tree. I dread the day when the databases of census records and military records also get "modified" to allow linking and extraneous info....but I suspect its coming. Tread gently researchers.....lest more databases get corrupted by extraneous information.

I started doing photo inventories of cemeteries in St. Lawrence county NY in 1999 and have close to 200 cemeteries inventoried on my home page (see link above). I copied the inventories to find-a-grave and uploaded the photos here.

I lived most of my life in the Washington DC area where I took photos at Arlington National Cemetery (ANC) from 2007-2015. I now live in Colorado but but still visit ANC when I can to take photos. However, I no longer claim requests due to stalking and harassment from a couple other volunteers.

ALL the men and women who served our country and put their lives on the line deserve respect, but I have a particular interest in those who fought and died in WWI (over 116K casualties in a 2 year period). They were exposed to some of the most brutal warfare known and the suffering in that war was intense. Over the last 5-6 years I have endeavored to ensure all the graves of the WWI servicemen buried in Arlington (approx. 8,000) are documented and photographed on find-a-grave the 100 year anniversary of our formal involvement in that war. However, the men who served and sometimes died in ANY conflict from the Revolutionary War to today's conflicts in Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria are all equally noble in my eye.

Let me know if you would like to take-over management of any listings I manage for your family/friends. I generally honor such requests, but please realize that edits can be made by using the edit tab on the memorial without any need for transfer of management and its much quicker for everyone

Lastly, please remember that the purpose of find-a-grave is to create a database of world-wide final disposition data for people to use to find where an individual is buried, and to allow them to virtually see the site through pictures taken by volunteers. It can be used to create memorials (as long as a grave location is known), but there are also many true "memorial sites" that may be more appropriate than a site called "Find a Grave".
