Worried about the discrepancy between the number of pages I have created and the number I manage?

Find A Grave admins transferred burials in two cemeteries to me. In one case the page manager was no longer active. In the other case, with several thousand burials, the page manager had been removed by Find A Grave. I'm doing my best to update all those burials as people send me links and edits.

When I began working on Find A Grave, I walked and photographed many small cemeteries in Shawnee and Wabaunsee Counties where my ancestors were buried. Later I began photographing Mount Hope Cemetery in Topeka, which only had a little over 3,000 burials on Find A Grave when I started. Once a week I would take my water bottle and notebook, visit the cemetery office, and pick up a new map of a different section.

Now my days of walking on uneven surfaces are over. Once a week I try to go to the Kansas Historical Society archives west of Topeka to look up records to verify edits sent to me.

I've been collecting family history for the last 40 years. My husband and I have deep Kansas roots. His are in Ottawa, Lincoln, Nemaha and Cloud counties; mine are in Shawnee, Wabaunsee, Crawford and Pottawatomie counties.
