Please send all edit and transfer requests via the Suggest Edits tab on the memorial. This provides the proper links to the memorial and to your profile page. For factual edits, use the designated entry boxes. This minimizes introduction of errors and is much faster. Transfer requests need to include your specific relationship to the person in the memorial. Per Find A Grave policy, please do not send copyrighted materials (e.g. obits) for posting unless you have written permission from the copyright holder (and include note to that effect). I verify all suggested edits. It is very helpful if you use the NOTES field (not the Bio field) to provide source information and/or links, especially for common surnames.

For Find A Grave, I primarily work Sunnyside Cemetery (Willow Street, Long Beach, California) and Forest Lawn Memorial Park (Long Beach). In December 2015, a photo survey at Sunnyside was completed and photos of all legible markers posted on Find A Grave. On 1 August 2021, a Sunnyside Cemetery office clerk completed a review of the actual cemetery burial records and added memorials to Find A Grave as needed. All known Sunnyside Cemetery burials are now on Find A Grave.

Please note that Los Angeles area death certificates and obituaries may refer to 'Sunnyside Cemetery', 'Sunnyside Mausoleum', 'Sunnyside Memorial Park', or to 'Sunnyside Crematory'. Only the first refers to the cemetery on Willow Street. Sunnyside Mausoleum, Sunnyside Memorial Park, and Sunnyside Crematory are part of what is now Forest Lawn Memorial Park (Long Beach) located at San Antonio Drive and Cherry Avenue (about 4 miles northeast of Sunnyside Cemetery). The similar and confusing names are due to the history of Long Beach and are documented in a blog (and book) by a respected Long Beach historian:

The similar names continue to cause confusion to this day. If you have access to a death certificate or obituary that states either 'Sunnyside Mausoleum' or 'Sunnyside Memorial Park' and the F-A-G memorial states Sunnyside Cemetery, the burial location in the memorial should be edited to "Forest Lawn Memorial Park (Long Beach)". If the DC or obit states Sunnyside Crematory, the burial location should be 'Cremated' unless additional research provides an actual interment location. Also note that obits published in non-local papers may also incorrectly refer to 'Sunnyside Cemetery' when 'Sunnyside Memorial Park' is meant. To change the cemetery on a memorial, click on the 'Edit" tab, scroll down (if needed) to the 'Burial' entry and click on "Change Burial Location" tab.
